Seal Ghost Spotted at Seaburn, Sunderland, UK: Remains of the old animal park and boating area, next to the amusements can still be seen to this day. If one chooses to paddle there (let alone swim) then one might expect to have their feet cut by all the rumble. That "attraction", which most closely resembles a sewer outlet, has not contained much water for best part of thirty years. However, that spooky sign remains.
There is something sinister about the situation: It is the site of an old boating “lake”. It does not even have enough water for a shopping trolley. An elderly chap confirmed that there were pedal boats and animals there at one point too (not sea monsters or mermaids). He maintains that the “canal” was closed around twenty-seven years ago.
He mentioned that the canal once had a seal. It had refused to return to the wild. The same animal would wear Sunderland football club t-shirts and hand out leaflets. One source claimed that he could whistle, which is odd because he was almost devoid of lips. Others assert that the seal was vicious and would chase people. This gives a little credibility to the rumour that a group degenerates kicked or clubbed the creature to death. Further reports allude to the ghost of the animal haunting the area. There have been at least two recent sightings, within three months.
